There is much in the way of architecture and landscape to see in the city of Berlin, a good way of getting to see the whole of Berlin is to take a bus trip around the city.  There is a bus which passes by all the major sights in Berlin, and means that the tourist gets to see places like the Reichstag, the State Opera and the Brandenburg Gate.  The bus travels all the way through to East Berlin, to offer the tourist a glimpse of what life was like living under Communism before the Berlin was taken down.  There are some great photo opportunities along the way, and it is possible to get off the bus and catch another, should a photo opportunity be seen.

If something is needed to entertain the children, then Berlin zoo is one of the largest zoos in Europe with around 14,0000 animals.  The zoo is home to hundreds of species of reptiles, fish and insects.  There is also a petting zoo which has very tame goats, sheep and other animals, it is great for getting the kids involved, and gives some good photographic opportunities.  Any visitor will need to spend at least half a day at the zoo, this will enable them to see most of the animals.

A good place to visit is the old border control point which was situated in between East and West Berlin, known to many as Check Point Charlie, thousands of tourists visit this particular attraction each year.  Another historic attraction which is worth seeing is Brandenburg Gate, this is situated between East and West Berlin and defines one of the dividing points which has been the focus of many key events in German history.

Other than tourist attractions Berlin is home to some of Europe’s most beautiful landscapes, lakes, scenery and greenery.  There is something to do for everyone in Berlin.

The best way to get to Berlin is to fly to Schonefield airport and to catch a train or taxi from the airport to Zoologische Garten, the journey to Berlin will take around 40 minutes depending on traffic.
